First contact will be with a humanoid race

First contact will be most probably with a humanoid race, because they don’t want to scare us with the diversity of races that exist in the Universe.
They will be similar, but that does not mean that all there body is 99% identical with ours.
Bigger eyes and brain can be expected, and less developed body for physical activities (when you are very smart from some time (500.000- to milions of years), you most probably have robots to do the hard work).
Probably a new race will appear at a few years distance, so we can begin to live with the ideea that not all intelligent life forms in the Universe are humanoid and good looking from our point of view.
Star Trek is not very far.
Depends on us, how quick we will travel between stars, with them.
